Unlike other kits in the market, which can take up to 15 minutes of sample preparation, SQS Red & Green provides an immediate staining in just 5 seconds, which allows a greater agility and speed in the seminal analysis process.
The Spanish technology company specializes in the design of automated semen analysis systems that improve the reliability, ease of use and speed of the process, in addition to perfecting the subsequent production of semen doses. Thus, the company has made possible everything from equipment with integrated microscopes and automatic focusing to 100% automatic sperm counting. SQS Red&Green represents a further step in the optimization of the semen analysis process.
The SQS Red & Green fluorescent staining kit differentiates between live and dead cells, as well as those with partial membrane damage, allowing the vitality of spermatozoa to be analyzed during semen analysis. Red color indicates dead spermatozoa and green indicates live spermatozoa. Those containing areas of two colors are considered dead because their membrane is partially damaged.
It consists of both fluorochrome tubes and slides with built-in counting chambers for up to 100 analyses.
Unlike current fluorochromes on the market that are in liquid form and are quite tedious to prepare in the laboratory, SQS Red&Green fluorochromes are lyophilized at the bottom of the tube. Its innovative format means that it does not require prior incubation of the sample. When the fluorochrome is mixed with the liquid semen sample, it rehydrates instantly.
Although this novel staining kit has been designed to be used in combination with the SQS2 automatic vitality analysis system, it can be used in any equipment or microscopy that uses fluorescence technology.
The SQS2 system designed by ARQUIMEA has already been a great advance in the seminal analysis by fluorescence technology in species such as swine, ruminants and horses, since the sperm count is 100% automatic.
