ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING EXPERIENCE

Our capability in Design Engineering complements the Manufacturing Engineering, therefore our customers can avoid intermediaries and work on their projects with a single point of contact, reducing both risks and costs.

We use most modern software as well as several CAD-CAE-CAM tools. The work teams are specialized in all stages of the process: conceptual design, 3D design, detail drawings, material lists, etc., all optimized for efficient manufacturing. The engineering department’s experience in manufacturing ensures that the designs can be manufactured, thus optimizing development costs.

In addition to the documentation related to the design, drawings and analysis documents, ARQUIMEA specializes in ILS, generating user and maintenance manuals, technical publications according to ASD1000D and IPL illustrations according to ASD2000M.

MANUFACTURING AND ASSEMBLY

We have decades of experience in the manufacture and assembly of more than 1000 different items each year, produced using a wide range of machining technologies.

Our resources in top of the range machinery (MAKINO, DMG, JUNG, DANOBAT, ONA, HEXAGON, FRONIUS, etc.) allow us to comply with the quality and reproducibility requirements of our customers.

We have CAD-VAM tools for machining and post-processing: lathing, milling, rectification (tangential and cylindrical), electrical discharge machining (wire and penetration), high pressure water jet, abrasive blasting, and washing/degreasing.

We provide approved mechano-welding capabilities for the manufacture of structural assemblies. Welding: TIG, MIG/MAG and LASER welding for carbon and stainless steels, and special alloys (e.g. Jethete).

We are approved for special processes such as electrical discharge machining (control of recast layer), welding, laser etching, visual inspection and liquid penetrants.

INSPECTION AND TEST

With the aim of guaranteeing the quality of all the jobs performed, ARQUIMEA carries out an exhaustive control of them all, providing inspection certificates for all jobs undertaken.

We have a verification laboratory with a controlled temperature and humidity environment and we calibrate all our verification equipment according to international patterns with guaranteed traceability: coordinate measuring machines, 3D arm, durometers, electronic profile projector, perthometer, thread gauge, microscales, oscilloscopes, nano-ammeter, particle counter, etc.

ARQUIMEA also has a testing department with qualified capabilities for:

  • Mechanical trials for load testing
  • Non-destructive liquid penetrant inspection trials and visual inspection
  • Electric trials
  • Fluid tests
  • Pressure, vacuum, temperature, humidity and flow rate test
  • Particle analysis
  • We also have agreements with research centres and certified laboratories (UPM, CENIM, IFA, CEMAM, LORTEK, etc.).

ARQUIMEA is the approved and authorised centre in Spain for the maintenance and calibration of hoists for aeronautic use (civil and military) for the manufacturer Didsbury Engineering.

ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING

ARQUIMEA has extensive experience in metal Additive Manufacturing (AM). AM permits the production of highly complex parts through the addition and sintering of material. A laser source allows a 3D image to be obtained of the defined geometry using very thin layers of material in powder form.

RAMEM has used this technology in the manufacture of its more complex parts. RAMEM offers its customers this new technology, highly suitable for short runs and initial prototypes, as well as the industrial production of parts with sophisticated requirements, including topological optimisation.

The limitations of this technology makes post-processing necessary in order to obtain the specifications required in relation to dimensional and geometric tolerances, roughness, threads and interfaces. RAMEM has extensive experience in the post-processing of parts manufactured using AM and uses automated and semi-automated processes for deburring, polishing and surface hardening, which include abrasive, thermal, chemical, electrochemical and magnetic techniques, each selected according to the part and the requirements of the customer.

We design, manufacture and manage our production using a quality system compliant with the standards EN 9100 & UNE-EN ISO 9001.

The quality manual, the general procedures and the technical instructions all form the basis of the documentation and encourage uniformity in the working methods in the descriptions of their implementation.

Our procedures and welding personnel are all approved by CESOL (Spanish Association of Welding and Joining Technologies), LORTEK-IK4 and SOLySOL. The personnel that carry out NDT are certified by CERTIAEND (Certifying body of the Spanish Association for Non-destructive Testing).
