ARQUIMEA strengthens its international positioning in loitering munition systems and showcases Q-SLAM-40 enhancements at World Defense Show

February 6, 2026
  • At the World Defense Show, the company presents significant improvements to its Q-SLAM-40 system, which expands its autonomy, vision capabilities, and state-of-the-art AI, as well as improvements to training systems.
  • ARQUIMEA consolidates its position as one of the leading players in loitering munition systems, with sales in 2025 across six programmes in Europe and Asia and a clear strategy for further international expansion.
  • ARQUIMEA showcases the integration of its loitering munition systems into naval platforms, in collaboration with Navantia, through solutions displayed at both companies’ exhibition stands.

Riyadh, February 5 – ARQUIMEA, a Spanish technology company specialised in defence and security with more than 20 years of experience, is taking part in World Defense Show, one of the leading international defence industry events, held in Riyadh from 8 to 12 February, where it is presenting the evolution of its loitering munition portfolio and multi-domain unmanned systems.

ARQUIMEA’s participation in the event takes place against a backdrop of the growing importance of unmanned capabilities, autonomy and precision as key elements in current operational concepts. In this context, loitering munition systems and solutions designed for complex environments are playing an increasingly critical role for armed forces and security organisations.

Evolution of the Q-SLAM-40: greater autonomy, vision capabilities, and state-of-the-art AI

Among the key highlights ARQUIMEA is presenting at the show are the hardware and software upgrades incorporated into the Q-SLAM-40 system, aimed at increasing its operational effectiveness and versatility across a wide range of mission scenarios.

The system has been optimised to achieve up to 40 minutes of endurance while maintaining the same explosive payload, making it the only system in the world of its size capable of carrying a 1.2 kg warhead with a 40-minute endurance. In addition, it is equipped with an infrared camera, enhancing its capability to conduct night-time missions and operations in low-visibility conditions. Q-SLAM-40 also incorporates an advanced, state-of-the-art AI system that allows the operator to select and maintain tracking of both moving and static targets, improving accuracy and reducing cognitive load during the mission.

ARQUIMEA has strengthened the training and instruction systems associated with the Q-SLAM family through the use of reusable platforms and simulators, enabling more efficient, safer and more sustainable operator training.

The presence of the Spanish technology company at World Defense Show is aligned with its strategy of international consolidation and growth in loitering munition systems. Throughout 2025, the company has delivered these capabilities to six programmes in Europe and Asia, strengthening its customer base and advancing its expansion into new strategic markets.

A Multi-Domain Portfolio for Complex Operational Environments

ARQUIMEA’s stand at World Defense Show provides a comprehensive overview of its multi-domain technological offering. The solutions on display include its S-WISE unmanned underwater system, the Q-SLAM-100 medium-range loitering munition, its portable counter-UAS jamming system (C-UAS), and the Q-SCOUT subterranean drone, designed for operations in underground and hard-to-access environments, along with other systems tailored for highly demanding operational scenarios.

Collaboration with the Defence Industry

ARQUIMEA works closely with the defence industry with the aim of enhancing the capabilities of the Armed Forces. At World Defense Show, the company highlights its cooperation with Navantia, focused on the integration of its autonomous aerial and naval systems into frigate platforms. The Q-SLAM-40 loitering munition system and the S-WISE unmanned underwater vehicle can be seen at Navantia’s stand.

Through its participation in World Defense Show, ARQUIMEA continues to develop technologies designed to increase flexibility, precision and operational effectiveness for armed forces and security organisations, further strengthening its international positioning in an increasingly technological and multi-domain defence environment.
