ARQUIMEA will manage the largest network of Covid-19 test centers operating at Spanish airports with a total of 15 airports and 17 centers

  • AENA, which last September opened a new round of tenders for the renewal of the management of the COVID-19 test centers in the departure terminals of the main Spanish airports, informed ARQUIMEA on 15 December of the latest award corresponding to the airports of Madrid, Malaga, Seville, Bilbao, Santiago and Jerez.
  • ARQUIMEA thus completes the list of centers it will manage, under the Fly COVID Test brand, with a total of 17 centers in 15 airports, in addition to Barcelona, Reus, Girona and the Canary Islands (Tenerife North, Tenerife South, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and La Palma).

ARQUIMEA, a global technology company operating in highly demanding sectors, has been awarded the three tenders launched by AENA for the management during the next 6 months of 17 centers “DESIGNED FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF DIAGNOSTIC TESTS OF ACTIVE INFECTION FOR SARS-COV-2 AND OTHER TYPES OF CLINICAL ANALYSES”. It will thus manage, in a Temporal Union of Companies (“UTE”) with LabGenetics, the lot that includes the centers at the airports of Madrid, Malaga, Seville, Bilbao, Santiago and Jerez, and, in a Temporal Union of Companies (“UTE”) with Imegen, the other 2 lots that refer to the centers located at the airports of Barcelona, Reus, Girona and the Canary Islands (Tenerife North, Tenerife South, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and La Palma).

ARQUIMEA will lead this comprehensive COVID19 testing service, to provide travelers with access to the tests required under the health protocols for COVID-19 in air travel.

The Spanish technology company thus renews the management of the COVID-19 test centers at the airports of Madrid (T2 and T4), Malaga, Seville and Jerez. Which, since its start-up in March of this year, has carried out more than 340,000 tests and adds the management of the centers at the airports of Barcelona, Girona, Reus, Tenerife North and South, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Palma, Bilbao and Santiago de Compostela.

Both the new centers, which ARQUIMEA is taking over the management of, and those it is renovating, will operate under the Fly COVID Test brand and will offer PCR tests, rapid PCR tests, rapid antigen tests, rapid antibody tests and ELISA serological tests. All tests will be carried out in certified laboratories using highly reliable and sensitive tests and will allow travelers to obtain their results in record time, less than 12 hours for PCR tests and 35 minutes for rapid PCR tests.
