R&D

Research and development are key activities in ARQUIMEA’s strategy, based on the creation of new products to satisfy the real market needs. Today’s competitiveness requires the development of better and innovative products and orientation to different markets.

The main lines of research and development in ARQUIMEA are:

  • New and improved Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) materials
  • New SMA materials applications (medical, automotive, aeronautics and industrial)
  • Artificial muscles
  • New rad-hard technologies development (SMART POWER/HIGH SPEED)
  • New sensors concepts (electrostatic field, radiation sensors, industrial sensors)
  • Electronic parts and systems for agroindustry: wireless sensor networks; contaminants, chemicals and metals detection; air purification systems for greenhouses; smart traceability systems.

To be able to develop these technologies ARQUIMEA collaborates with the most renamed companies and research centers in Spain and in Europe in the frame of both National and European R&D programs.
