SENTINEL-6 LAUNCHED WITH IBERESPACIO (ARQUIMEA at the present) HEAT PIPES

The Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich satellite was launched on-board a SpaceX Falcon 9 on 21st November 2020. The mission will measure sea surface topography with high accuracy and reliability to provide information of the ocean forecasting system. The mission is the result of a partnership that includes the European Space Agency, the NASA, EUMETSAT, NOAA and the CNES.

IberEspacio (ARQUIMEA at the present) has contributed with heat pipes for the structure of the spacecraft that transport the heat from the electronic equipment’s to the radiators in order to radiate the excess of heat to the space.
