  • This collaboration builds on the MoU signed in 2024 and further strengthens the relationship between the two companies.

Madrid, April 29st, 2026 – Arquimea, a global technology company specializing in high-value solutions for strategic sectors, and SpeQtral, a Singapore-based leader in quantum communications, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a framework for cooperation in satellite-based Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) in Europe.

The agreement aims to accelerate the development and deployment of SpeQtral’s QKD technology in the European market through strategic technical cooperation with ARQUIMEA, as well as joint commercial exploitation in the region.

Under this framework, both companies will work together to identify technological and market synergies to support the adoption of SpeQtral’s satellite QKD solutions. The agreement also paves the way for future industrial collaboration initiatives focused on the design, manufacturing, and deployment of advanced quantum communication systems.

“This agreement with SpeQtral reinforces our commitment to developing state-of-the-art technologies for secure and sovereign communications in Europe,” said Ferran Tejada, General Manager of Space at Arquimea. “The combination of both organizations’ capabilities will enable us to advance the adoption of space-based QKD solutions for protected operational communications, which are critical for our governments and corporations.”

Chune Yang Lum, CEO of SpeQtral, added: “Our collaboration with Arquimea represents a strategic opportunity to expand the reach of our quantum communication technologies in a key market such as Europe. Together, we aim to accelerate the maturity of the satellite QKD ecosystem and facilitate its adoption across international markets.”

Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) is an emerging technology that enables the exchange of cryptographic keys with security based on the principles of quantum mechanics, offering unprecedented protection against current and future threats, including those posed by quantum computing.

This agreement strengthens the position of both companies as key players in the development of next-generation secure and sovereign communication infrastructures and reinforces their commitment to innovation in the space and quantum domains.
