  • The agreement seeks the integration of Q-SLAM loitering munition systems into the land platforms manufactured by GDELS-Santa Bárbara Sistemas.

London, May 12 – GDELS-Santa Bárbara Sistemas, a leading company in the defense sector for the manufacturing of systems and combat vehicles, and ARQUIMEA, a Spanish technology company with more than 20 years of experience specializing in the manufacturing of loitering munition systems, announce at DSEI 2025 the signing of a collaboration agreement for the integration of loitering systems into their combat vehicles.

The integration of loitering systems into GDELS-Santa Bárbara Sistemas’ vehicles expands the operational capabilities of the vehicles to carry out loitering operations; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR); attack missions; counter-drone missions; and even swarm creation for complex missions.

ARQUIMEA’s smart Q-SLAM loitering systems incorporate advanced artificial intelligence technology to enhance situational awareness, real-time data transmission, and swarm flight capability. This solution provides a significant operational advantage that increases responsiveness in land missions. ARQUIMEA has a broad family of loitering munition systems with different ranges and endurances and the ability to integrate various payloads depending on the mission to be carried out. The loitering system could be launched directly from the vehicle to perform missions in the required scenario, improving the speed and safety of each operation.

Alejandro Page, General Manager of GDELS-Santa Bárbara Sistemas, emphasized: “The integration of loitering systems into our vehicles allows us to offer the Armed Forces a fundamental tactical advantage that increases land mobility with smart drone attack capabilities.”

“The collaboration with GDELS-Santa Bárbara Sistemas to integrate our loitering systems into their land vehicles represents a significant step forward in drone missions, enabling greater autonomy, speed, and efficiency,” said Manuel Martín Flórez, General Manager of Defense at ARQUIMEA.

ARQUIMEA is a global benchmark in loitering systems, thanks to its solid industrial base for large-scale manufacturing and its internal innovation capacity, which strengthens its technological autonomy and consolidates its leadership position in these systems within the sector. For example, the company has manufacturing capabilities to supply more than 1,000 units per month of its Q-SLAM-40 smart loitering system.
