Washington, D.C., March 25, 2026 — ARQUIMEA, a technology company with more than 20 years of experience in highly demanding sectors, unveils MAGEC, its new secure communications satellite constellation in low Earth orbit (LEO), at Satellite Show 2026, held in Washington, D.C. from March 23 to 26.

This project, developed through CanarySat, the group’s company specialized in satellite operations, represents a strategic step forward in the deployment of sovereign connectivity infrastructures. MAGEC is designed to deliver secure, resilient, high-performance, low-latency communications for government, defense, emergency services, critical infrastructure, and strategic customers.

The constellation will consist of 264 satellites distributed across 12 orbital planes at an altitude of 900 kilometers, ensuring global coverage and high availability. Each satellite will feature active antennas and inter-satellite links, forming a robust and secure network.

ARQUIMEA will be responsible for manufacturing the satellites, leveraging its more than 20 years of experience in the space sector, its participation in over 220 missions, and its state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities.

The MAGEC constellation was announced during the “Next-Gen Secure Satcom Reception” event, organized by CanarySat in collaboration with the Commercial Office of the Embassy of Spain. The event opened with remarks by Juan Francisco Martínez García, Economic and Commercial Counsellor, followed by a presentation by Carlos García-Galán, Moon Base Program Executive at NASA, on the program. The event concluded with a presentation by Antonio Abad, CEO of CanarySat, who introduced the company and its new secure and resilient communications constellation.

“This launch represents a decisive step toward a sovereign secure communications infrastructure in space, capable of addressing current and future challenges in critical connectivity,” said Antonio Abad, CEO of CanarySat.

MAGEC will enable a wide range of services, including resilient connectivity in emergency situations, secure links between 5G cells, and high-speed protected communications for mobile platforms.

With this project, ARQUIMEA strengthens its position as a key player in the development of strategic space capabilities, driving technological sovereignty in critical connectivity infrastructures.
