ARQUIMEA announces the opening of a new Fly COVID Test centre at Bilbao airport

  • AENA already announced last 2021 to have awarded ARQUIMEA the management of the largest network of COVID-19 test centres at Spanish airports, with presence in Madrid, Malaga, Seville, Bilbao, Santiago, Jerez, Barcelona, Reus, Girona and the Canary Islands (Tenerife Norte, Tenerife Sur, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and La Palma).

Madrid, 24 February 2021.- ARQUIMEA, a technology company that operates globally in highly demanding sectors, has announced the opening of a new Fly COVID Test centre at Bilbao airport, where passengers will be able to take PCR, antigen and antibody tests with results in record time.

In order to facilitate air travel, ARQUIMEA, in collaboration with LabGenetics, has opened a Fly COVID Test testing centre on the first floor, at the departure area of the Bilbao airport. Their aim is to provide the city of Bilbao with the COVID-19 tests needed for passengers to meet travel requirements.

The centre will be open every day of the week from 8.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. Opening hours are expected to be extended in accordance with flight schedules and increase in activity.

 

COVID-19 testing service available at Bilbao airport.

As other Fly COVID test centres, passengers will have a comprehensive COVID-19 testing service available at Bilbao airport with results in record time: antigen test and rapid antibody tests, with results in 15-20 minutes, and PCR tests, with results in 12 hours.

The results reports are issued by certified laboratories, in English and Spanish, and are valid for travel to Spanish and international destinations. In addition, ARQUIMEA’s PCR kits are endorsed by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to detect other emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants, such as the Omicron variant.

Besides Bilbao airport, Fly COVID Test is also available at Barcelona T1, Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas (T2 and T4), Malaga, Seville and Jerez airports. During the first quarter of 2022, it will also open new centres at Santiago de Compostela and Barcelona T2 airports.
