Madrid, September 4th, 2025 – Arquimea, a global technology and defense company, announced the acquisition of Perseo Techworks, a leading developer of autonomous underwater vehicles. With this acquisition, Arquimea expands its portfolio of intelligent loitering munitions and unmanned systems, reinforcing its mission to provide cutting-edge solutions for land, sea, and air operations.

Perseo Techworks flagship product is S-WISE, an advanced unmanned underwater vehicle (AUV) is a hybrid multi-mission submarine designed for demanding military missions. The system S-WISE is equipped for Mine Countermeasures (MCM) — detecting, locating, and neutralizing naval mines — as well as Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR) and loitering munition missions. This technology strengthens Arquimea’s integrated defense offering and provides armed forces with new capabilities for maritime security and operational superiority.

S-WISE unmanned system offers significant advantages over other UUVs on the market, including superior performance in speed and endurance, and higher internal and external payload capacity. This is achieved through a novel lift-based submersible concept, which, combined with its propulsion and battery system, delivers unprecedented performance for this class of vehicle. The vehicle is manufactured with acoustically transparent additive-manufactured plastics, which allow for remote fabrication and repair (contested logistics) of components and/or complete vehicles, making it a highly logistically resilient system (attritable mass).

“The acquisition of Perseo Techworks represents a key milestone in Arquimea’s growth strategy to become the European leader in multi-domain loitering munitions for land, sea, air and space,” said Manuel Martín Flórez, CEO of Arquimea Defense. “By integrating Perseo’s world-class underwater technologies into our defense portfolio, we now offer a complete range of intelligent loitering munition systems across land, sea, and air, addressing the evolving needs of modern armed forces.”

“Joining Arquimea is an exciting step forward for Perseo Techworks,” said Sergio Olmos, CEO of Perseo. “Together, we will accelerate innovation and bring to market unmatched solutions that enhance maritime safety, underwater autonomy, and mission effectiveness for our customers worldwide.”
