Madrid, May 12
ARQUIMEA, a global technology company with over 20 years of experience, through its ARQUIMEA New Tech division, and Multiverse Computing have signed a strategic partnership agreement for the joint development of advanced solutions based on compressed artificial intelligence for unmanned systems in the defense and space sectors.
The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation between the two companies to identify, research, develop, and, where appropriate, market innovative products and services aimed at institutional clients and European programs, with potential international reach.
These initiatives will include both R&D activities and projects focused on the deployment and implementation of AI models on board satellites and unmanned vehicles across multiple domains: aerial, underwater, surface, and underground.
Multiverse Computing is one of Europe’s leading providers of artificial intelligence models. In recent years, the company has evolved toward optimizing and compressing AI models for edge environments, such as unmanned vehicles, through its CompactifAI technology. This positioning, along with its growing relevance in the European ecosystem and institutional backing, establishes it as a key player in the development of critical technological capabilities for defense.
Meanwhile, ARQUIMEA New Tech is the unit within ARQUIMEA that specializes in disruptive technologies, integrating research and development (R&D), advanced engineering, and venture building capabilities. Its approach combines the generation of scientific knowledge with technology transfer and the creation of new business initiatives, particularly in strategic fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, autonomous systems, space, and defense technologies. In this context, QCIRCLE—one of the two European Teaming centers of excellence awarded in Spain and managed by ARQUIMEA New Tech—serves as a key vehicle for facilitating collaboration, accelerating technological maturation, and connecting scientific capabilities with high-impact real-world applications.
This agreement reinforces both companies’ commitment to developing high-impact technological solutions amid growing investment in defense capabilities in Europe, and paves the way for future collaborations on publicly funded projects and international strategic programs.
“ARQUIMEA is thus reinforcing our commitment to integrating artificial intelligence and quantum technologies into unmanned systems, accelerating the development of advanced solutions for defense and space,” says Rubén CrIado, CEO of ARQUIMEA New Tech.
“This partnership with ARQUIMEA allows us to accelerate the deployment of efficient AI models in unmanned systems. With CompactifAI, we are bringing high-performance AI models to demanding environments, strengthening European technological capabilities in the strategic defense sector,” said Iraia Ibarzabal, Chief Growth Officer at Multiverse Computing.
In addition, the partnership will help accelerate the integration of artificial intelligence technologies into unmanned platforms, thereby improving their efficiency, autonomy, and operational capabilities in complex environments.
Through this partnership, ARQUIMEA and Multiverse Computing are solidifying their position as key players in the European ecosystem for technological innovation in the defense and space sectors.
ARQUIMEA is a Spanish technology company that operates globally in the aerospace, defense, security, and science sectors. It collaborates with international agencies, armed forces, and leading companies and research centers in the sector, providing innovative and reliable solutions.
