ARQUIMEA is a 100% private company that develops high reliability components for spaceflight equipment and mechanisms industry, including integrated circuits, actuators, sensors and R&D .

ARQUIMEA was founded in the year 2005 by Dr. Diego Fernandez, a visionary with a strong believe in research and development as the driving force of modern society. ARQUIMEA was born with a high commitment on talent management as the most important element to attain R&D and business success.

With experience in the space sector, Dr. Fernandez decided to focus ARQUIMEA on the development of new technologies for the space sector, and to transfer the innovations achieved in such a high demanding environment to other chronological challenges of society.

In 2010 ARQUIMEA achieved 4 million dollars turnover, doubling previous year figures. The objective for 2011 is to maintain this three digit growth, and to expand the business to America and Asia. To this end, ARQUIMEA has opened commercial offices and design facilities in 10 countries around the world.

In 2011 ARQUIMEA shares where transferred to ARQUIMEA Enterprises as part of our expansion strategy, focused on diversifying business by creating a group of international companies on different sectors.

The Management Board of ARQUIMEA considers that, in order to achieve his strategic objectives as well as to offer an effective service and to achieve customer's satisfaction, the Company must adopt the quality criteria established by the UNE-EN 9100:2003 regulation, emphasizing the following principles:

• To maintain the contractual commitment so that the services and products provided fulfill the applicable requirements and norms as well as contractual conditions, and to improve continuously the effectiveness of the implanted Quality Management System.
• To make the Management Board aware of the importance of its participation in the information flow improvement project.
• To provide the necessary resources, as well as to carry out the necessary investments for a continued improvement of the services and final product quality. This will be accomplished through a study of the factors that affect to the bad quality. Finally, processes and procedures will be suitably modified in order to eliminate the bad quality causes.
• To pass on the Quality Policy that the Management Board establishes for all its personnel, customers as well as its suppliers and partners.
• To continuously improve our processes and services as the fundamental instrument in order to increase our effectiveness as well as improve the increase of the competitiveness and the customer loyalty. In order to obtain it, we train, involve and motivate all our personnel collaboration to achieve continuous improvement.
• To optimize costs by a correct use of both human resources and available materials.
• To promote the participation of the company personnel in the development of the quality and the continuous improvement process, promoting personnel's training and guaranteeing the permanent update of its knowledge and abilities.

Faithful to these principles, the rules to fulfill by ARQUIMEA figure in our Quality Management System and they are declared mandatory for all the Company's employees.

ARQUIMEA agreements with leading Government laboratories, give us access to a complete set of qualification chambers, radiation facilities, a full range of clean rooms, and all the required qualifying processes and personnel necessary to develop and qualify the Flight Models.

In 2011 ARQUIMEA will open a 100sqm facility with state of the art equipment for High Reliability Packaging, including all type of bonding, MCCM, packaging, testing and inspection. Until Then, ARQUIMEA uses selected providers to perform such processes.

• In collaboration with ESA the SMARQ material has been successfully tested in the ended ITI Project, enabling the possibility to qualify new Non explosive actuators based on SMARQ technology.



• Successful Qualification of the Mars Dust Sensor, that will fly to Mars in the frame of the Russian-Fininsh-Spanish mission METNET Precursor - Phobus Gruntt Sample Return

ARQUIMEA permanently seeks for leading Scientific and technological research groups with innovative researches that can be transferred to market in a 2-4 years timeframe. ARQUIMEA invest large amounts of resources in external R&D in two types of projects. Internal projects, and international research projects, in the frame of a consortium. R&D costs are financed by ARQUIMEA resources and also with the support of government R&D support institutions.
